As printed in Earthlink's eLink Newsletter: Issue #12 Online Netiquette "Miss Manners for a digital world! Do you have a friend who insists on typing in ALL CAPS? Do they spam you with every joke they come across? Don't just sit there: give them a dose of Online Netiquette! This helpful site explains the murky world of proper online interaction with helpful hints, a monthly newsletter, and a straightforward presentation of proper Internet manners. Yes, with Online Netiquette there is hope for us all!" And again in Issue #74: I get e-mail all the time about my authoritative attitude, some understanding why such a tone is necessary while others resort to name calling. [ Why do I champion E-mail Etiquette? ] So, in an effort to allow my site visitors to become more familiar and comfortable with the chic behind this screen, Judith Kallos - my background and why NetManners.com exists, here's the scoop. I am a real human being who has been online since the very start before most knew what online was or even would be and thought I would offer you a synopsis of who I am, what I do and why I do it. In 1995, after ditching the corporate world where I had been an engineer for one of the top Japanese Electronic companies, I started my own innovative Technology Fusion, Marketing & Coaching Firm, The IStudio®. Since that time I have volunteered my time and expertise to many .orgs, won awards, written and published books and articles while developing over 500 Web sites for business savvy clients who chose to work with me. For the past decade on this page I've listed all my accolades in detail until recently when I decided to remove all the blah-blah-blah about me. The way I figure, if a potential client or partner cannot garner confidence in my skills and expertise by perusing my site, to continue rambling on all about me wouldn't make a difference. To list every recognition received or radio show, publication I've been quoted in or T.V. show I've been on (or asked to be on) while playing here at The IStudio®, well, to be honest was getting too much to track and list. Anyway, none of that has anything to do with how I approach each individual client's unique program and how I help them reach their goals. And, anyone who would like to know more can simply Google me and see for themselves. I am known by some as "Miss eManners" because of my promotion and support in regard to e-mail etiquette and proper technology use. Something I really believe in the importance of and feel is simply not covered as much as it should be.
On an aside, I've been called other names as well. Some of which I cannot list here by those who had issue with my inflexibility to cave in to client or partner requests when I knew it was not the right thing to do. I value being able to look at myself in the mirror over making a buck.
My first book, Because Netiquette Matters! Your Comprehensive Reference Guide to E-mail Etiquette and Technology Use is available for purchase through online booksellers and my own eStore (Support the author and buy direct!). I am most known for TheIStudio.com, NetManners.com, my first book, Because Netiquette Matters! and my E-mail Etiquette Blog, NetMannersBlog.com where I try to post often about the issues and dilemmas site visitors communicate to me.
TheIStudio.com has a plethora of reality-based information for those interested in running a successful online endeavor. This includes my Blog RealityNoHype.com where I promise to share my experience and not sugar-coat what it takes to succeed; a rare commodity online. I also run a unique eStore, LearnAndThrive.com, which offers products that help and support onliners to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills they will need to thrive online. At the end of 2005, thanks to the benefits technology offers, I left the rat race, congestion, high cost of living and rush, rush, rush mentality that one could no longer escape when living in the Chicago area where I was born and raised. It was a melancholy life-changing decision. I now reside in a new home with my better half and two dogs, Spike and Naylze, on a private lake with acreage in northwestern Mississippi. I am still energetically running my consulting business while promoting the benefits that the proper use of technology offers each of us; both personally and professionally. When I am not writing articles, eBooks or marketing my own sites, I work with those elite business owners that appreciate my unique methodology. I look forward with enthusiasm to assisting those businesses seriously committed to their own success with my personalized consulting services offering the required products, services, coaching and critical ongoing support necessary to meet their goals. Including the skill and knowledge acquisition that participating in technology demands of each of us! "I know the price of success; dedication, hard work and
an unremitting devotion to the things you want to happen." ~ Frank Lloyd Wright My Online Resources:
